A film about a Detroit martial arts academy with a special mission won the best documentary award this week at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival held in New York City. “The Cave of Adullam,” directed by Lauren Checkoway and produced by actor Laurence Fishburne, focuses on Jason Wilson and his efforts to help young Detroit students through the Cave of Adullam Transformational Training Academy that he founded in 2008.
