The Black International Film Festival (BIFF) is about to hit the red carpet in Birmingham where the best from the world of film and TV soaps are to be recognised. The seventh annual week-long festival will be held at top spots in the city from October 27, with the highpoint being the BIFF award ceremony – the Movie & Screen Awards (MVISAs) on November 2 at the International Convention centre. It will be jointly hosted by former EastEnders actor Chucky Venn, and award-winning actress Lorna Laidlaw, who plays receptionist Mrs Tembe in the BBC soap Doctors.
